Clumsy is the most important character. Because he opens the portal to go to New York. And is the hero in the end. Another important character is Papa smurf. Because he helps them get back home. He is the oldest smurf. And he opens the portal to get home.
The main characters are trying to get out of New York. But Gargmel is trying to catch them.And they find Patrick and Grace which take them in and let them eat an drink their food.
I rate this book a 4-5 because it had a lot of detail but once in a while it would get boring. I would recommend this book to people who like adventure and a lot of interesting parts.
